LEGACY OF ECOLOGICAL AND PRE-INCA CULTURES OF PERU INCA

The preservation of natural resources, particularly water and soils, is the subject of many issues in today's world.

Under the filming of a documentary film, Emily and Gregory LĂ©onardon DAVY went to the meeting farmers and rural communities, but also researchers, anthropologists, archaeologists and Latin America to study the preservation of water resources and land for a period of ten months from Mexico to southern Chile. Returned in April 2009 they will present the results of their study, focusing in particular on aspects of this problem in Peru.

The first part of their intervention will focus on cultural heritage and agricultural civilizations of Inca and pre-Inca different techniques will be presented: andenes (cultivation terraces) of the Colca Canyon and Sacred Valley (Moray), the Waru Waru (irrigation canals) in the region of Puno and Salinas ("salt marsh") Valley sacred.

The second part will focus on current issues of agriculture Peruvian particularly following the recent signing of the Free Trade Area (FTA) with the United States and Canada, and its many impacts on the local economy.
